The Wrong Fear

In the dream my wife Teresa and I were living next to a church. We don’t now and never have lived next door to a church. I stepped out front because there were a lot of people making noise that sounded somewhat like a huge sporting event. I saw these people in a crowd in front of the church, with each holding on to the front of the church and pulling in one accord.

To my horror the front of the church separated in one gigantic piece asI was awakened from a dream that terrified me. My heart was racing, I was sweating profusely, and I was full of fear. The Lord reassured me it was a dream, but it was not just for me. if the church was sectioned. They were pulling this section down towards themselves until they buried themselves with this wall. The most disturbing part was not that a church body made themselves dead, but they did so with excitement! Each time they pulled they roared with anticipated victory like a crowd would if watching a tug of war and one team surged to pull the other over their line. Then there was silence as the wall landed on the body.

I then sensed a presence to my left but I did not turn my head. I am not sure if I saw in my peripheral vision or discerned this presence. Either way there were three people standing there who watched this event as it unfolded. I knew the one in the middle was Satan but I do not know the other two. I learned in the spirit that the devil was responsible for this church demise and he was watching to see it to its end. I also knew that Teresa and I were next, so I ran into the house, grabbed Teresa and ran out into the back woods of our home. When we arrived into the woods we encountered a maze of tall hedges and attempted tried to negotiate our way with Satan and the other two closing quickly.

Before I ran into the house I noticed at the edge of the fallen wall a young woman crying for help to get out from under the wall. She was the only one I heard and saw who survived the fall. I knew it was in my power to rescue this woman, but I was so fearful I ran. Soon after we entered the maze in the woods, I woke up in that terrified pool of sweat.

The part of this dream that was for me pertained to the woman caught up under the wall. She could have been freed if I had taken the time to do something for someone else whom needed help more desperately than I. This would have been an act of love in the face of fear and perceived impending death. I John 4:18 tells us " There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love". The Lord showed me that my lack of love for this woman caused her to perish and it bred the fear I was feeling when I awoke. I John 4: 7-8 tells us " Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love". This was my warning to show the love of God both in spirit and in deed. I am not even afforded looking out for "number one" if it means another will suffer for my selfishness.

Jesus then spoke in Revelations 2:10 " Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you in prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life". I don’t know if I was to go to prison in this dream, or if my life was to end there. Either way I was not faithful to the love of God, so I would not have been afforded a crown of life if I was to die at that moment.

The part of the dream that was for the corporate body was more pronounced. The Lord showed me this church in the dream was representative of the church world today who believe they are doing God’s will but are going to land in self destruction. This is not to say that all of today’s churches are headed for disaster. But apparently there are churches out there that appear alive and well and are excited about the spirit that is working in their church. The Word tells us in Matthew 12:32-33 " And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor the world to come. Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit".

How does one blaspheme the Holy Ghost? The answer is directly related to a major dividing line in the body of Christ today. Jesus told us in Luke 4:4 " …….It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God". Interestingly enough Satan is watching the church as the roaring lion that he is to make sure the church blasphemes the Holy Ghost. Jesus told us in John 12:12 " Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father". Do we then say that we are not to do the signs and miracles of Jesus or even greater works than these? Do we make Jesus a liar and say that only the Apostles were given this power from on High and it stopped with them?

Jesus told us in Matthew 28:18-20 that we are to do the same things that He commanded the Apostles to do. We are part of the "all nations" in verse 19 and we are to observe (or do) the same things they did. How did the Apostles learn how to speak in tongues, and to prophesy, and to lay hands on the sick to be healed, and to discern good versus evil, and the wisdom and understanding to know when to do what to whom? The beginning of the Book of Acts showed us after Jesus’s death that the Apostles waited for the Holy Ghost to enter the room they were occupying. They began to speak in other tongues and to prophesy. The remainder of the Book of Acts shows us healings, and miracles and the dead being brought back to life. How did this happen? The Holy Ghost gave them this power which was to be imparted to "those who believe".

I believe this dream showed me that there are churches that are proclaiming that the Holy Ghost no longer imparts power to anyone and they believe the manifestations seen as "charismatic euphoria" is a tool of the devil. Jesus told us at the end of Mark the signs that will follow those who believe: "In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents (not handle snakes, but practice spiritual warfare), and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover" Mark 16:17-18.

The answer to blasphemy of the Holy Ghost should now be obvious. This dream showed me those churches who refuse to believe they have the very power Jesus told us we are to have and use are in danger of the Judgement. They are in corporate blasphemy and are quite enthusiastic to do so.There are those who are hearing from the Holy Ghost in these churches and are on the edge of breaking out. They are represented by the woman I was supposed to help. She was under the wall, or covering of the church, but she as others in these churches are yearning for more.

Jesus is calling us as the body of Christ to break out of old traditions that appear to be in line with the Word of God but are actually blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. God is calling an army of believers who are willing to give up their old selves and work toward the love God instilled in us when we first were Born Again. If we can see past the "old guard" of church blasphemy and follow the unction of the Holy One, we can effect the change necessary to hasten the second coming of Jesus. The Word never said that the earth will be filled with the knowledge that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. The entire earth knew in the first century A.D. that a person who said they were God’s son died on a cross for the sin of the world. The Word tells us the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of God before his return. He will not come for a blasphemous people. His glory will only rest on those who want Him in His fullness. Let the spirit of God lead you in His righteousness.
